What to Bring on A Moose Hunt

What to Bring on A Moose Hunt

Moose hunting is a thrilling experience for many hunters. When hunting it is very important to be sure you have all the proper equipment to ensure a successful hunt. Of course you have to bring your rifle and proper documentation but there are a few other essential items that can help.

If you are planning an upcoming hunt check out the recommended items below:

Good quality knife

One of the most important items you don’t want to forget is a good knife. You’ll want to bring a knife that will stay sharp for a long time and is strong enough to take some abuse. For a successful hunt, you will need a few different knives. It is best to have back-ups for just-in-case purposes.

Binoculars
If you look through a set of good binoculars, you’ll be reminded just how cool the outdoor world really is as you see through a different perspective. You’ll be able to see animals in action when they don’t even know you’re around and you’ll be able to change your approach based on what you see.

Warm and dry camouflage clothing
You won’t want to be cold and wet while hunting, so you’ll want to invest in waterproof gear with hunter comfort in mind so you can stay out in the field longer. Just be sure not to wear cotton since it cotton absorbs moisture.

Rangefinders

Instead of guessing how far a moose is from you, use your rangefinder so you don’t overestimate or underestimate! A rangefinder is a gadget that measures the distance of a target by using sonar technology.

Insulated backpack

It is important to keep all your gear organized so investing in a quality hunting backpack is important. Be sure that it insulated so it will keep water out when it rains.

Here are a few items to keep in your backpack:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • First Aid Kit
  • Lighter
  • Flashlight
  • Camo Mask
  • Compass
